Robert Clasby
San Diego, California
Robert Clasby grew up in Massachusetts, born to a working-class family. Although he initially planned to follow his father into blue collar work, he soon discovered that he had a talent for spotting business opportunities in the rapidly changing world of the late 80s and early 90s. In particular, Robert Clasby was fascinated by the business potential of computers. He saw opportunities in the internet when this revolutionary technology was still in infancy. In the early 1990s, Robert Clasby began to work with computers, putting his money on the line for his hopes in technology. He launched his first start-up company in 1991, and his career advanced rapidly. In 1995, he became one of the internet’s first webmasters. He was soon hired to work for TIAC, one of the internet’s first service providers. Not long after, he was hired to helped train the IT staff at Harvard Business School. In recognition of his skills, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology awarded him a certificate in Advanced Internet E-Commerce.
By 2006, Robert Clasby had fallen on hard times, but he didn’t let this stop him from following his dreams. He had the idea to start a new business venture. Robert Clasby launched VizSource, a 3D rendering company. VizSource was a response to the growth of the CGI industry. The idea was simple: use CGI for architectural renderings. Robert Clasby saw the potential that CGI technology had to be used to create a photo-realistic rendering of a construction project that was yet to be finished. These renderings could then be used to market the project and obtain funding from investors, not unlike a technologically advanced – and visually superior – blueprint. Excitement and interest in the project could be created before it was even begun. In addition, 3D renderings could also be completed in a matter of days, for a price affordable to any construction company. Still, Robert Clasby wanted to ensure that he could offer the lowest prices possible. Robert Clasby decided to split his business between Filipino and American employees. By seeking skilled Filipino laborers, Robert Clasby was able to lower costs without sacrificing quality. True to his vision, VizSource would quickly become profitable. Today, VizSource is at the forefront of 3D renderings for architectural usage. VizSource makes the 3D rendering process simple with a hands-held walkthrough approach. The company is experienced in dealing with an array of projects and clients, boasting an impressive 99% on-time ratio and 99% approval rating from clients. With such successes, the company was able to branch out, and has since handled remodeling, virtual 360s, and consumer products. The VizSource website exemplifies a wide variety of VizSource’s talent and dedication has easily cultivated a loyal customer base. Once a month, VizSource posts project spotlights, a type of article in which former customers talk about their experiences. These spotlights show frequent praise for VizSource’s competitive pricing, efficient, helpful staff, and beautiful final renderings. Many of the customers cite VizSource’s renderings as an essential part of their process and a boost to their business. Even those who come to VizSource at an outside request or are otherwise new to the industry have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and clarity that VizSource brings. VizSource’s dominance over the industry remains strong, and the company continues to grow.
In 2011, Robert Clasby and his business partner, Mark Jones, came together to start a new business venture. Mark, a fellow entrepreneur with twenty years of experience, was an ideal choice. Mark has been working with the internet since 1996 and has spent many years designing complex solutions to meet the needs of various businesses. Robert Clasby and Mark put their unparalleled experience together. The resulting company is known as Bridge Technology Partners, a custom software development company. The two noticed the growing market for smartphone applications in addition to the ever-present demand for software that could meet the needs of businesses. In the seven years since their founding, Bridge has proven their ability to find solutions to even the most complex of problems. Whether it be app development, or fixing broken software, Mark and Robert Clasby are up to the task. Even when the two must work late into the night and early in the morning, their final product is completed without fail. With so many years of programing experience, the two can handle any challenge. Nonetheless, Bridge is a partnership company, and success depends equally on the vision and character of the clients. Customers with the patience, foresight, creativity, open-mind, humility, and finances to handle this often-risky industry have found that Robert Clasby and Mark are professional, friendly, determined, and sympathetic towards their customers. The two are quick to respond to calls and emails and frequently take on tasks after hours to ensure a quality, on-time product. They keep their customers updated with frequent meetings to discuss where the project stands and where it will go from there. Bridge’s quality is unmatched not only because of the experience and talent of the owners, but also because of their rigorous employee training. Robert Clasby and Mark recognized that employees were an equally important part of their process, and New employees are put through a ninety-day training program in which they are rigorously pushed to learn the skills needed to work efficiently and effectively. Debugging, unit testing, documentation, and working within specific criteria are standard skills in the company, and those who can’t learn these skills are fired. Bridge makes a constant push for improvement in their work. Bridge is continuing to grow and expand, and Robert Clasby has high hopes for the future of his company.
Time and time again, Robert Clasby has proven himself a dedicated and responsible businessman. His talents for spotting new opportunities, as well as his strong work ethic and constant dedication to his businesses, are admired and respected by his employees and friends alike. Though Robert Clasby is confident in VizSource and Bridge, he remains aware that the business world will only continue to change. He continues to ponder new ideas for business opportunities, knowing that opportunities will always remain. Robert Clasby’s vision has pulled him up the ladder of business success, from near-poverty to owning two stable and profitable companies. His story is an example of someone who lived the American dream, someone who bet it all on a risky venture and was able to create a better life for himself and his children.
